John A. McCary
Founder. Owner.
John is the founder and owner of Port 194. He is a decorated combat veteran, a former commissioned Foreign Service Officer in the State Department, and dedicated father of two. At the age of 29, John landed at the artificial intelligence (AI) office at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), where he designed and led development of the classified TIGR software and hardware suite, now a program of record in the United States Army. Since then, John has added to his skillset by becoming a Certified Ethical Hacker, developing intelligence and analysis software for national security entities, and now creating custom AI-enabled software tools for frontline users.
John has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, CNBC, the Washington Post and other major national outlets. John was profiled in the Oscar-nominated documentary, Operation Homecoming.
John designed and now teaches the Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) course at the University of Arizona College of Applied Science and Technology, an NSA-approved National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Operations (CAE-CO). He has trained hundreds of students, ranging from special forces operators to bail bondsmen, street cops to journalists.
Trey “Gonzo” Gonzalez
Software Dev Lead
Trey brings his many years of experience in computer hardware engineering, software development, AI research and cyber operations to the Port 194 Team. He is passionate about bringing intelligent solutions to clients around the globe across a number of different professional fields. Trey has a gift for devising clever, novel and most importantly useful custom software solutions. He is always willing to listen to customer feedback and constantly endeavors to provide his clients with precisely what they need. Whether he is writing code or scraping and parsing a new data source, Trey is a pivotal member of the team at Port 194. Watch out! Trey is also an experienced practitioner of jiu jitsu.
